The Story of liiteGuard
Today, liiteGuard stands as one of Denmark’s most prominent running brands – despite the fact that the journey began only nine years ago. What started far from the running trails, with custom-molded shin guards for football players, has grown into a performancewear brand trusted by runners across the country. From our headquarters in Silkeborg, we design products now sold in more than 350 stores nationwide.
How It All Started
liiteGuard was founded by former professional football player Christopher Geertsen, who has both youth national team experience and Superliga minutes for Randers on his CV. At age 22, a severe knee injury abruptly ended his dream of a career in top-level football. During the long rehabilitation process with physiotherapist Nicklas Falkesgaard, a simple question emerged — one that changed everything:
Why aren’t there socks specifically designed for football players?
That question became the beginning of a new chapter. Together, Christopher and Nicklas created the world’s first custom-molded shin guard paired with a compression sock. What began as a passion project to stay motivated during a difficult period evolved into a brand that is now one of Denmark’s leading producers of technical performancewear for runners.
